How Many Block Confirmations Does a BNB Deposit to Binance Need

What Block Confirmations Mean

When you deposit cryptocurrency to Binance, the transaction won't arrive instantly after being sent. It needs to go through a certain number of "confirmations" on the blockchain network before it's considered final. Each confirmation means your transaction has been "stamped and approved" by a new block. The more confirmations, the lower the chance of the transaction being tampered with.

Binance sets a minimum confirmation requirement for each coin on each network. Funds are only credited to your account once that requirement is met.

If you haven't registered yet, sign up for Binance first. After downloading the Binance app, you can see the specific confirmation requirements on the deposit page.

BNB Confirmation Counts and Arrival Times

BEP20 Network (BNB Smart Chain)

Depositing BNB via the BEP20 network typically requires fifteen block confirmations. BNB Smart Chain produces blocks approximately every three seconds, so fifteen confirmations take roughly forty-five seconds. In practice, including network propagation time, it generally arrives within one to three minutes.

This is why depositing BNB on the BEP20 network offers such a great experience — fast speed and low fees.

BEP2 Network (Beacon Chain)

BEP2 is the earlier version of the BNB chain. Confirmation speed is also very fast, typically arriving within one to two minutes. However, pay special attention: depositing BNB via BEP2 requires filling in a Memo. Forgetting the Memo will prevent automatic crediting.

ERC20 Network

BNB can also be deposited through the Ethereum network (ERC20), requiring twelve block confirmations. Ethereum's block time is around twelve seconds, so twelve confirmations take roughly two to three minutes. However, during Ethereum congestion, wait times can extend to ten minutes or longer, and fees are significantly higher.

Confirmation Counts for Other Common Coins

BTC (Bitcoin)

Requires two block confirmations. Bitcoin averages one block every ten minutes, so the theoretical minimum is twenty minutes. In practice, due to block time variability, thirty to sixty minutes is more common. Large BTC deposits may require additional confirmations.

ETH (Ethereum)

Requires twelve block confirmations. Ethereum produces blocks roughly every twelve seconds, so twelve confirmations take about two to three minutes. Under normal network conditions, ETH deposits arrive fairly quickly.

USDT (Various Networks)

USDT is a multi-chain asset, and the confirmation count depends on the network. TRC20 requires nineteen confirmations — with Tron's block time of about three seconds, that's roughly one minute. ERC20 requires twelve confirmations, same as ETH. BEP20 requires fifteen confirmations, same as BNB on BEP20.

SOL

Solana's confirmations are extremely fast. Although the required finality slot count appears high, blocks are produced in under a second, so actual arrival is typically within one to two minutes.

DOGE

Requires forty block confirmations. Dogecoin produces blocks about every minute, so it takes roughly forty minutes to arrive.

XRP

Confirmations are very fast, usually completing within seconds to one minute. But remember to fill in the Memo (Destination Tag) — without it, the deposit won't be automatically credited even after confirmation.

How to Check Current Confirmation Progress

In the Binance App

Go to "Assets" then "Deposit History" and find your deposit record. It will display progress information like "8/15 confirmations," meaning eight blocks have been confirmed out of fifteen required.

Via Block Explorer

Look up your transaction hash on the corresponding block explorer. Use BscScan (bscscan.com) for BNB Chain, Etherscan (etherscan.io) for Ethereum, Tronscan (tronscan.org) for Tron, and Mempool (mempool.space) for Bitcoin. Block explorers provide more detailed information including transaction time, confirmation count, and fees.

Why Confirmation Progress Sometimes Gets Stuck

Network Congestion

When transaction volume surges, new transactions must queue up waiting to be packaged. Your transaction may already be in the queue but hasn't been included in any block yet, with the confirmation count stuck at zero.

Miner Fee Too Low

If you transferred from a wallet and set a low miner fee, miners may continually skip your transaction. Some wallets support adding additional miner fees to speed things up.

Binance Wallet Maintenance

Binance occasionally performs maintenance on deposit channels for specific coins. During maintenance, even if on-chain confirmations are complete, Binance won't credit the deposit. Check Binance announcements for maintenance schedules.

How to Choose the Fastest Method

If you have multiple networks to choose from, use this priority:

First priority: Solana (one to two minutes), BEP20 (one to three minutes), TRC20 (one to three minutes).

Second priority: ERC20 (two to ten minutes, but high fees).

Third priority: BTC network (thirty to sixty minutes, use when there's no other option).

For USDT transfers, TRC20 and BEP20 are both excellent choices — fast and cheap. You can visually compare the confirmation requirements for each network on Binance's deposit page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Confirmations are complete but funds still haven't arrived

Wait five to ten minutes — it may be a processing delay on Binance's end. If it's been over thirty minutes and still hasn't arrived, contact support through the Binance app and provide the transaction hash.

Can confirmation requirements be temporarily adjusted

Yes. If a security incident occurs on a particular chain (such as an attack), Binance may temporarily increase the confirmation requirement to protect user funds. Changes will be communicated through announcements.

Can I cancel a deposit during the confirmation period

No. Once an on-chain transaction is sent, it cannot be canceled. You can only wait for confirmations to complete.

Are confirmation counts the same for small and large deposits

In most cases, yes. However, Binance may set higher confirmation requirements for very large deposits. The specific standard is shown on the deposit page.

Security Tips

During the confirmation waiting period, you don't need to take any additional action — just be patient. If someone tells you that you need to "manually confirm" or "pay a confirmation fee" to speed up the arrival, that is one hundred percent a scam. Block confirmations are completed automatically by the blockchain network, and no one can intervene in your specific transaction. For any deposit issues, only handle them through Binance's official channels.
