You just downloaded the Binance APP, open it, and it's all in English — this is the first reaction many Chinese-speaking users have. Don't worry, the Binance APP supports Chinese. It's just that the default language may follow your phone's system language or the download region settings. Switching to Chinese is very simple and only takes a few steps.
Why It Opens in English
Before covering the specific steps, let's explain why you see an English interface.
Reason 1: The app defaults to your phone's system language. If your phone is set to English, the app displays in English.
Reason 2: Your Apple ID or Google account used to download the app is set to an English-speaking region.
Reason 3: During initial installation, no language preference was selected, so the app defaulted to English.
Regardless of the reason, you can manually switch within the app. If you haven't installed the Binance APP yet, get the download link through the Binance sign-up page. Android users can also download directly from the official APK. After installation, follow the steps below to switch languages.
Detailed Steps to Switch to Chinese in the APP
Below we'll cover both Android and iPhone platforms. While the steps are essentially the same, there may be slight differences in interface details.
Android Steps
Step 1: Find the Profile section
After opening the Binance APP, look at the upper left or lower right corner for an avatar icon or "Profile" entry. The exact position may vary between versions. Usually there's a person icon in the upper left of the homepage — tap it.
Step 2: Enter Settings
In the Profile section, find and tap "Settings." If you can't find it, scroll down the page — sometimes the Settings option is near the bottom.
Step 3: Find Language settings
On the Settings page, find the "Language" option. This is usually near the top of the settings page and easy to find.
Step 4: Select Chinese
After tapping "Language," a language list will appear. Find "Simplified Chinese" or "Traditional Chinese" (choose according to your preference) and tap it.
Step 5: Confirm the switch
After selecting the language, the app may prompt you to confirm the change and restart. Tap confirm, and the app will automatically restart. After restarting, the entire interface will be in Chinese.
iPhone Steps
iPhone steps are essentially the same as Android:
- Open the Binance APP
- Tap the avatar icon in the upper left to enter Profile
- Find "Settings"
- Find "Language"
- Select "Simplified Chinese" or "Traditional Chinese"
- Confirm the switch and wait for the app to restart
Some iPhone versions of the Binance APP follow the system language setting. If you can't find a language switching option within the app, you can change it through the iPhone system language: Settings → General → Language & Region → Add Language → Select Simplified Chinese and set as preferred language.
What If You Can't Find the Language Option
Some app versions may place the language option in a less obvious location. Try these places:
Location 1: Profile → Settings → General → Language
Location 2: Profile → Settings → App Settings → Language
Location 3: Bottom of the Profile page — sometimes there's a direct "Language" entry there
Location 4: Gear icon in the upper right of the homepage → Language
If none of these locations have it, you may be using a special app version. In this case, we recommend updating to the latest version, which typically has a clearer settings page.
About Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese
The Binance APP supports two types of Chinese: Simplified Chinese (for mainland China users) and Traditional Chinese (for users in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau).
Simplified Chinese: Usually displayed as "Simplified Chinese" or "Chinese (Simplified)" in the language list
Traditional Chinese: Displayed as "Traditional Chinese" or "Chinese (Traditional)"
Be careful to select the right one. Choosing the wrong variant won't make things unreadable, but some terminology and expressions may feel unfamiliar.
Things to Note After Switching Languages
The entire interface will change to Chinese
After a successful switch, all menus, button text, prompts, and messages in the app will be in Chinese, including the trading interface, settings pages, and notification messages, making everything much more comfortable to read.
Some content may remain in English
A small amount of content may not be translated, such as certain financial terms, cryptocurrency names (BTC, ETH, etc. are English abbreviations by nature), and some third-party service interfaces. This is normal.
Help Center and customer support language
After switching to Chinese, the in-app Help Center articles will typically also switch to Chinese versions. For customer support, Binance provides Chinese-language service, so you can communicate directly in Chinese.
Push notification language
After switching languages, push notifications from the app will also appear in Chinese, including price alerts, trade notifications, and security alerts.
Language Switching Doesn't Affect Your Account
Some worry that switching languages might affect other account settings — you can put that concern to rest. Language is purely an interface display preference and has no connection to your trading data, assets, security settings, or anything else. After switching, your holdings, orders, earnings, and all data remain exactly the same.
Similarly, switching languages won't change your trading fees, account level, or any permissions. It's purely a visual change.
Other Localization Settings
Since you're already in settings, you might want to check what other localization options you can adjust.
Currency unit
You can set the default fiat currency display unit. Chinese users typically set it to CNY (Chinese Yuan) or USD (US Dollar) for more intuitive asset value and price viewing.
Settings path: Settings → Currency → Select CNY or your preferred fiat currency
Timezone settings
Make sure the time displayed in the app matches your timezone. The app usually auto-detects the timezone, but if time displays are incorrect, you can adjust manually.
Theme mode
While you're in settings, you might also switch to your preferred theme. The Binance APP supports both light and dark themes. Dark mode is easier on the eyes when using the app at night.
Settings path: Settings → Theme/Appearance → Select Light or Dark
Web Version Language Switching
Here's how to switch languages on the desktop web version, since you may occasionally need to operate there too.
- Open the Binance web version
- Look in the upper right corner for a globe icon or language abbreviation (like "EN")
- Click it and select "Simplified Chinese" from the dropdown
- The page will automatically refresh and switch to Chinese
The desktop client language switching is similar — find the Language option in settings to make the change.
How to Switch Back to English
If you switch to Chinese but later want to switch back to English (e.g., following an English-language tutorial), the process is identical to switching to Chinese — just select "English" from the language list.
Path: Profile → Settings → Language → English
The entire language switching process is very simple and doesn't involve any technical operations. Just find the language option in settings, select the language you want, and you're done. If friends around you have the same issue, share this article with them — it can be resolved in just a few minutes.
